Take a look at the new CCF

The Custody and Control Form (CCF) has gone through a recent round of revisions. The US DOT approved the CCF for use as of September 1, 2020. To clarify, collection groups should continue using the old forms until August 30, 2021.

Revised for ease of use

For example, the CCF has added more information to the donor identification line. The new form includes “CDL State and No.” on all FMCSA-regulated tests. The inclusion will help medical review officers (MROs) reporting drug and alcohol violations, streamlining the process.

Is oral fluid specimen collection coming soon?

The revised form makes accommodations to add oral fluid specimen collection to the Federal testing program. Moreover, the DOT doesn’t currently authorize oral fluid collection drug testing.

The Department of Transportation authorized DOT-regulated employers, collectors, labs, and MROs to use the new forms as of September 1, 2020. DOT-regulated clients should use the old forms until after June 1, 2021, or until the old CCFs are gone.
