FBI Fingerprinting may not keep you safe- 10 Jan

Although many may think of the FBI’s fingerprinting check system as being a “golden standard” for background checking, that really may not be the case. A NELP (National Employment Law Project) found that 50% of the records in FBI databases are missing disposition information.

Not every criminal record is associated with a fingerprint. And the NAPBS also points out that “not all state criminal records or fingerprints meet the FBI’s standards for inclusion… and not all state records are submitted to the FBI.”
